Welcome to namenesting.com ("the Service", "we", "us"). NameNesting is an independent project built by an indie founder based in Pakistan. By using this site, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain language, not legalese. Read them once and you're done.

1. Who can use NameNesting

You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. If you're under 13, please don't create an account or use the AI features. Parents and guardians can use the Service on behalf of expecting families.

If you're between 13 and 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.

2. What NameNesting does

NameNesting helps people explore baby names. We provide:

  • A searchable database of 55,000+ baby names
  • AI-generated personality insights ("vibes") for names
  • AI-generated etymology and meaning research
  • An initials checker tool
  • The ability to save favorite names to an account
  • A name numerology calculator

Everything described above may change as we improve the Service.

3. Your account

You can create an account using your email address. We send a one-time link to log in (no passwords to remember). You're responsible for keeping your email account secure.

You can delete your account anytime by contacting us at [email protected].

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others
  • Attempt to bypass our rate limits, security measures, or fair-use policies
  • Scrape our database or use automated tools to download content in bulk
  • Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the Service
  • Use the Service for any illegal activity
  • Submit false, misleading, or harmful content

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. AI-generated content

NameNesting uses AI to generate personality "vibes" and meaning research for names. AI-generated content:

  • May contain errors or inaccuracies
  • Should not be taken as definitive cultural, religious, or historical fact
  • Is not professional advice (parenting, legal, medical, or otherwise)

We label AI-generated content clearly. Please verify important details (cultural meaning, religious significance) through trusted independent sources before making naming decisions.

6. Free and fair use

NameNesting is currently free. To keep the Service sustainable, free accounts have reasonable limits (for example, a daily cap on AI insights and a limit on saved favorites). These limits exist to prevent abuse, not to nickel-and-dime you.

We may introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, free-tier features described in our marketing will remain free.

7. Your data

We respect your privacy. Full details are in our Privacy Policy. In summary:

  • We only collect what's needed to make the Service work (your email, your saved favorites, basic usage stats)
  • We do NOT sell your data
  • We do NOT share your data with third-party advertisers
  • AI processing happens on our own servers — your searches don't go to OpenAI, Google, or other third-party AI providers

8. Content ownership

The name database, AI insights, and Service design are owned by NameNesting. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes (like choosing a baby name).

You may NOT republish our database, scrape our content, or use NameNesting content for commercial purposes without written permission.

Your saved favorites and personal data belong to you. You can export them as CSV anytime.

9. Service availability

NameNesting is operated by one person. We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may take the Service offline for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen issues. We're not liable for downtime, data loss, or interruptions, though we do our best to prevent them.

We perform regular backups but recommend you export your saved favorites periodically if they matter to you.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee:

  • That AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or culturally correct
  • That the database is comprehensive of all names in any tradition
  • That the Service will always be available
  • That any specific result, feature, or behavior will be available indefinitely

Use the Service at your own discretion.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NameNesting and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes (but is not limited to) any naming decisions you make based on Service content.

Choosing a baby name is your decision and your responsibility. We provide tools; the choice is yours.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify registered users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the courts of Pakistan.
