NameNesting is an independent project built by one person, for parents who want more than another list of names.

The story behind this

Hi, I'm Farrukh. I'm the person behind NameNesting.

I created NameNesting to give the world's naming traditions the depth they deserve. Choosing a baby name is one of those moments parents remember forever — and a name carries a child's heritage for life. I wanted to build a place where every culture's names are treated as first-class: shown in their own native scripts, with meanings and origins that are genuinely accurate, across 50+ languages and cultures.

So I started building NameNesting as a full-time indie project. No team, no investors, no funding. Just me, a vision, and a lot of late nights — with AI as a helper to explore names in ways a static database never could, never as a replacement for a parent's own intuition.

NameNesting isn't the only thing I build this way. I also make letsflw, an AI writing platform, with the same philosophy — honest tools, no bloat, built by one person who actually cares about getting it right.

What NameNesting actually is

  • AI-powered personality insights — get a unique "vibe" description for any name, generated on demand.
  • AI-powered meaning research — for names where our reference data is thin, an AI fills in etymology and origin (with honesty about its confidence — "Unknown" is allowed).
  • Initials Checker — find awkward initials before committing (yes, this matters more than you'd think).
  • Save favorites — keep a list, export it as CSV, share it with your partner.
  • Honest free tier — most of the site is free forever. Premium is for unlimited AI insights, no caps, supporting indie work.
  • AI baby name generator - find AI generated baby names according to your language and style.

What NameNesting is NOT

  • It's not a giant corporate name database with millions of fake entries.
  • It's not ad-supported (and won't be ad-spammed even when we add ads later).
  • It's not selling your data — we genuinely don't share anything with anyone.
  • It's not pretending the AI knows everything — when it doesn't, it says so.

Why an indie project?

Big companies optimize for engagement metrics, ad clicks, and shareholder returns. I'm optimizing for parents who want to find a name they love — and never visit a baby name site again because they actually found one.

That's the whole pitch. Smaller, more focused, more honest.

The roadmap (transparency)

I'm still in early launch. Things on the way:

  • Premium subscription for unlimited AI insights (you can join the waitlist now)
  • More names from underrepresented cultures (South Asian names need a lot more coverage)
  • Better visual design for the whole site
  • Features users actually ask for not features I imagined alone
